You could always, you know, read the EULA and find out. :P It's something you need to read through and not just ignore.

why would they be? they are doing nothing wrong since they are totally in game. personally they dont bother me. people complain that they are spamming but those that whine about it say more then they do. I remember one guy that was spamming a message in all caps that when something like this "DONT GOTO (players name) CASINO. IT IS A SCAM YOU WONT WIN AND YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR MONEY WHY DO YOU THINK THEYA RE IN BUISENSS." i just laughted cause casinos are in RL too and people goto those a lot :P

sadrobot exactly right, people trying to trade spam more too, but its same with casinos in real life, everyone knows the casino has the advantage but hey if you want to gamble its your money

Gambling (if you could call it that) is a tax on stupidity. Anyone who thinks that if they win, the other player is obligated to pay isn't clear on the concept. He doesn't even need to log. He can just stand there. There's no rule in the game that says he has to give you anything. There's no rule that says you have to pay either. Kind of stupid when you think about it.

OK, above post is retarded. There is this thing called being honest and playing fair. Apparently, you have never played games like this and if you have you would know that not everyone is a complete a$$h47. You saying something like this would make me think that you are either one of the people who does the scamming or one who got scammed. Either way you look at it. It is something that takes place in game and usually works out.

the word "usually" is noted.

In exchange i'd like you to note everyone isnt fair or honest, and things like that happen. Often.

I'm sure there's some kind of rule against generating an insane amount of spam, and if there isn't there needs to be.

That is my one-and-only beef with casino's...the obnoxious amount of spam they generate.

Jerkwad Casino says "COME ONE COME ALL! WIN BIG MONEY NOW AT JERKWAD'S CASINO!! 68+ ON A HUNDRES SIDE DICE WINS THE POT!! BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH!!"
Dumbass one rolls 2 and a 100 side dice
Dumbererass roles 61 on a 100 side dice
Dumbass one rolls 2 and a 100 side dice
Dumbass one rolls 2 and a 100 side dice
Dumbass one rolls 2 and a 100 side dice
etc...

add that to the fact that everyone uses the damned spacial chat to spam their items for sale instead of the trade channel and the level of spacial chat garbage flying by reaches insane levels.

if they kept all that crap to the trade channel, and all the dice stuff automatically went to the trade channel, i wouldn't care in the least, because i have the trade channel permanently off.

they banned these in wow and i hope they do the same in this game.

I have emotes, general and trade chats disabled unless I need to buy something.

Think about it: would you like to see "Dumbass 1 rolls" or "Dumbass 1 starts dancing" .

If I want to gamble then I will go to Las Vegas or Atlantic City or even the Caribbean. But when I am playing a MMROPG, the last thing I want is to be constantly spammed by Casinos!!! True, I simply can turn off my Local chat or Trade chat lines, but why in the heck do I have to do that? This is a game to have fun, adventure, quest and get to know variuos people, not a venue for those Gambling addicts to spam every single town I go in!

Come on gang, there are many underage people playing and initiating them to gamble is not cool at all!!!

There are my 2 cents worth!!! and I earned them fair and square....

Yeah you can turn off that chat form and you can also /ignore (dumba$$ 001). People make too much of a deal out of this. I don't have a casino or gamble, but some people find it fun to do so. Why whine about it, when you can just ignore it?

Because ignore doesnt work that way. Seems to block 'em from sending me tells, but i can still see 'em on general chat.

You have no idea how many times i've tried to use the ignore feature on dumbass01 or equivilant. The text continues to appear before me, its infuriating.

We shouldn't have to turn off our local chat channels to avoid spam and Ignore only works for whispers.

Last night there was a casino running and every 5 minutes there was a huge argument as to who owed what to whom. All caps were flying and the local chat channel became impossible to use it for what is was meant for. This was a sad night of jumping districts in order to get away from all this crap but even that was a pain as they were everywhere. Besides, we shouldn't have to try to avoid this in the first place. It needs to be stopped for the betterment of everyone's overall enjoyment.

If someone wants to gamble then join a group and take the spam and arguments there. Leave the rest of us that actually want to play the game as it's supposed to be played alone.

i dont know if you have tried but when you say messages that are to close and to soon it blocks it. I am more annoyed by the people going
"Romac jumps"
"Romac jumps"
"Romac jumps"
"Romac jumps"
"Romac jumps"
"Romac jumps"
because there is not blocking on that at all. and if it really annoys you just goto a different district.

Well that you could actually turn off the emote channel as it wouldn't stop you from getting groups and such as would turning off the local chat channel. As I already said, we jumped from district to district yesterday just to get away from the casino spam and everywhere we went it was the same. There must be a casino guild out there or something like it because it seemed rather excessive. Also, as was mentioned, we shouldn't have to go out of our way to avoid chat spam. I have been in contact with tech support and they have assured me that this type of behavior is against the rules of the game and that violators would be taken care of accordingly. Therefore, until it stops I will continue to report anyone that spams the local chat channels with casino garbage that prevents us from playing the game as the developers had envisioned.

I'd be more intrested if said ignore worked in a fashion that was more acceptable, i.e. not just on whispers but on every aspect of text for that character being put on your ignore list.

Only then would your argument to ignore it hold up, as it stands, Local is a dump for all kinds of spam, and its getting harder to read in between said lines of spam. People use the local channel to find groups. Simply turning it off is pointless unless your strictly a soloist.

Get rid of the spam and you can gamble all you like, i wont care, nor will I complain about you doing it; but so long as it inturpts my ablity to find a group when the odd feeling strikes, or hold a decent conversation, yea, im gonna be a little irritated about it.

In short, give me an ignore button that blocks all text from said spammer and trust me, i'll use it.

I laugh at those casinos, since they are really not casinos at all. Last time i checked, casinos offered more than one game. And you can play blackjack in GW damn it. But i don't need to waste money on that stuff, i have plenty of it and don't need it.

I am with Madjik on this one. Actually stopped playing last night to come on here and see if I was missing a way of ignoring an individuals posts on all channels. I hope they implement this soon, will make local chat much more readable.
